BRANCH HISTORY
Beginning in 1916 and with the intent of better addressing the issues of racial injustice and denial of civil rights, members of the local community petitioned the National NAACP to charter a local branch of the NAACP. Since chartered in 1918, the Metrocom NAACP branch #4019 has continued to strive for shining a light on inequity and racial discrimination throughout the Scott County, Iowa community as intended by our initial 50 members.
By continuing to remind the community of not only the progress that has been made, but advocating for continuing growth, the Metrocom NAACP Branch has been pivotal in making impactful changes.
